Remembering Magic Shows for children in need

That time of the year is almost here. Every year the BBC hosts #children in need. An evening of entertainment where the great British public watch a mix of entertainment (some good some not so good) and heart wrenching videos carefully produced to reach out to people’s caring side. Millions of pounds are raised every year which is spent on helping improve children’s lives. The figure usually rises each year ( I wonder when it will reach its zenith).
Anyway the point of this article is to remember a week I spent a few years ago raising money for children in need. I visited different infants school in the Portsmouth and Southampton areas performing comedy magic shows for all of the pupils attending that particular school. It was a really enjoyable week! The children all paid a pound to watch my magic show and all of the money collected went to children in need (more value for money than a non school uniform day right???).
In that particular week, I was featured in three different local news papers, interviewed on #Express FM in Portsmouth and was mentioned on #radio2 by Steve Wright.
It has to be said that I love to entertain a big audience. When a children’s entertainer performs at a school with 100 + children (all on their best behavior because they’re at school) the ambiance is really quite exciting, especially when you hear the noise generated by that many kids laughing or wowing!!
To conclude, I think it may be time for a new adventure #comicrelief maybe??? I shall have to put my thinking cap on.
The appeal show takes place on the 16th November 2018
